Facing the Future is pleased to announce the release of two complimentary online resources:

Curriculum Unit: Engaging Students in Conservation

Conservation Unit Curriculum Cover How are human-wildlife conflicts, government, and poverty interconnected? Students explore questions like these through hands-on lessons in Facing the Future's new 1–2 week curriculum unit, Engaging Students in Conservation: Protecting the Endangered Snow Leopard. This 86-page unit contains five lessons and culminates with a fully-planned service learning project. Each lesson includes student readings, action project ideas, lesson extensions, assessments, and links to relevant films and websites.

The unit is aligned with national science, social studies, and environmental education standards and is designed for use in science and social studies courses for grades 5-8.

Valued at $14.95, the unit is available for download at no charge.

"I used different parts of each lesson with each class' ability. The many choices of activities allows for differentiation over a large expanse of abilities."

  • Options for projects that take place both on and off school grounds

Climate Change Unit Curriculum CoverThe Climate Change Action Project Database complements Facing the Future's 2-week curriculum unit, Climate Change: Connections and Solutions.
